October 12, 2009 by Willis Combs · Leave a Comment

Why don’t you approach every beautiful woman you see? Because the fear that she may reject and humiliate you, often leaves you feeling paralyzed.

Its ok, you are not alone. Every man experiences this fear. And did you know women get scared, nervous, sweaty palms, and draw mental blanks when they are approached by the opposite sex? They are just like us and experience very similar feelings of anxiety.

The good news is that by using a couple easy tools you can eliminate up to 96% of the possibility of humiliation. This tool does not always lead to a successful closing; however it will determine if she will be receptive to your approach or not.

I call it the smile test and this is how it works;

You see the beautiful girl and eventually you exchange eye contact. When your eyes meet, you genuinely and sincerely smile at her. If she returns your smile she is going to receptive to you initiating a conversation.

This is for a few reasons:

1. Smiling is the most basic form of flirting and best of all you dont have to say a single word.

2. If you smile at her, you are showing you are confident and assertive. You saw an attractive girl and you smiled at her.

3. Very few other men will just smile at a strange girl. This will make you unique and different from every other guy she could be dating.

4. Lastly, you dont expect women with boyfriends to be smiling at strange men because it is flirting. Thus you have a much higher likelihood that she will be single and available.

If you think back about some of the prettiest women that you have seen and wish you had talked too, likely one of these girls smiled at you. When women smile they are much more attractive. The same is true for men.

In addition when you do this, she will see you as much more approachable, confident, outgoing, and better looking. If you are nervous about rejection an easy step to get things started is to just smile at the women you find attractive.

You dont have to talk to them but notice how many return your smile. It feels really good to have good looking girls smile at you.

Are Heart Rate Monitors Accurate?

October 12, 2009 by Henry Calhoun · Leave a Comment

There are many people who are concerned about the accuracy of heart rate monitors and are therefore worried that they might not be good to use when exercising. There is in reality nothing to be worried about since a heart rate monitor will use many factors to determine the rate and if it is wrong, it is probably because someone didn’t ensure accuracy. If properly used, the results are almost always very accurate.

In 1977 the first modern heart rate monitor made for personal use was invented. This device was modeled after the standard EKG and was also designed to be that accurate. This first time a personal heart rate monitor was used was to assist a cross country skiing team with training.

Since that first heart rate monitor, all monitors have been made for accuracy. It is an essential part of the monitor. In fact, a heart rate monitor is useless without being accurate because you can simply check your own pulse and your own math to come up with the exact same information that the monitor gives you. So, there is really no way that the monitor can be inaccurate and it not be found out.

A heart rate monitor simplifies the whole process of monitoring your heart rate and ensuring that you are working to your full potential and not over exerting yourself. The whole point of the device is to save you time and to make things easier on you. If it is not accurate then you will have no use for it.

With heart rate monitors being a top selling fitness device, there has to be something right with them. If they were inaccurate then everyone would know and people would stop buying them. However, there have been some problems reported with the accuracy of some heart rate monitors. These reports, though, have prompted changes and advancement in the newer monitors now on the market.

One of the issues with earlier models was that electromagnetic waves from electronic equipment could interfere with the heart rate monitor and cause inaccurate readings. Most newer models have a feature which blocks such interference.

One of the most common issues, however, is user error. If the monitor is not put on right or used properly, then the results are going to be inaccurate. To avoid this it is imperative to read the instructions and all other literature that came with the monitoring device. This way you are sure to use it correctly.

To get the most accuracy, you should be careful as to what type of heart rate monitor you purchase. Generally speaking, the chest band type is most accurate, however, there are many kinds of models and one might work better for you than another. Before purchasing a model it is a good idea to test some out first, such as at a gym. This way you will reap the full benefits by buying the right monitor for yourself.

Heart Rate Monitors Help You Keep Pace

October 11, 2009 by Henry Calhoun · Leave a Comment

Heart rate monitors are one of the newest products on the market for health and fitness. A heart rate monitor is a device that helps you to monitor your heart rate during exercise so that you can easily find the right intensity for a maximum workout. The monitor attaches to your body and is convenient and easy to use.

There are a variety of types of heart rate monitors. Each has different qualities and characteristics. The basic types include a watch style and chest band.

With the wristwatch style heart rate monitor you will have something that is very convenient to wear because of its small size. This style is also comfortable to use and is accurate since it measures the pulse rate of the wrist. The majority of heart rate monitor users find this watch style device to be more comfortable and although it is precise, when it comes to accuracy the chest band model is preferred by many.

As its name says, the chest band style heart rate monitor has a band that is placed across your chest and then there is a separate piece where the readings are shown which is often a watch or clip-on piece. The problem with this style of monitor is that during strenuous workouts they are very uncomfortable to wear. However, that is changing since models of chest band monitors are now being developed that are non-slip and even strapless. It is also a fact that these kind of heart rate monitors are the most accurate, being second only to those used in hospitals.

It has become increasingly popular to use a heart rate monitor during workouts. This is because it is now more common knowledge that a fitness program will have maximum benefits if a person trains at a certain heart rate level. This can be found manually too, but having a monitor makes things much easier and the devices are also more accurate. process much more simple and convenient.

The use of a heart rate monitor is also simple. After the right type has been chosen, all you have to do is wear it while exercising. Just by looking at the measured rate you will know if you are working out at your maximum or not. Using this information means you will easily improve your fitness level without having to over-exert yourself.

Another advantage of training with the help of a heart rate monitor is that it has the same function as a personal trainer since it tells you if you are working out with the right intensity. This way you know which exercises are being trained properly and which are lacking in intensity.

Overall, heart rate monitors are great assets when it comes to staying physically fit. They let you know if your workout is being done right or if you can train more intensely to achieve the desired results.

All About Pedometers

October 11, 2009 by Henry Calhoun · Leave a Comment

Pedometers have had many names during the course of history, such as calibrated odometer, manpo-kei, hike-o-meter, Tomish-meter, and step counter. These devices have existed since ancient times, but have not always been just a tool for people who want to stay healthy and physically active.

Perhaps the first use of pedometers can be dated back to the time of the early Romans. Steps were counted in order to measure distances, not for the purpose of the physical fitness of the Roman soldiers, but for whatever military and civil purposes that distance measurement may serve the Romans. Leonardo da Vinci also saw the possible military uses of a mechanical pedometer, and this was evident in his paintings, depicting Roman soldiers carrying such a device.

This was further realized by the Third President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson. He actually got his first pedometer at France, and although it is still unknown whether he modified it or not, he then introduced it to the Americans. Hence, it was called a Tomish-meter for some time, which was first operated with a pendulum swinging back and forth.

After that the device became popular and then was marketed throughout the United States. The name then changed to hike-o-meter. There was also a Japanese version of this, known as the manpo-keis which was then marketed starting in 1965. The literal translation of the Japanese pedometer is 10,000 step meter.

Nowadays pedometers are modern and can even be integrated into other electronic devices, but this was not always the case. Earlier versions had lead balls that would swing like a pendulum and these were attached to the hips. The strikes of the ball were used to take measurements, but this was not very precise. Today’s pedometers, especially the digital ones, are very precise.

Pedometers were first used to measure distances covered by runners. Athletes would not even be found practicing without one of these on them back in earlier times since these devices were important tools for many activities. Nowadays, though, the pedometer is primarily used to record the number of steps taken. This is so important now, because walking is considered a good way to exercise and nothing more strenuous than a brisk walk is necessary in order for it to be seen as exercise..

For those who are weak or too overweight to take part of regular exercises, but nevertheless need exercise, pedometers are a great help since they track how much is being done. Diabetics and chronically ill people will quickly see the value of pedometers and their use as a tool to keep fit.

Pedometers have served different purposes ranging from measuring distances all the way to staying fit. This device has had many names, but one thing they all have in common is that they are here to stay.

How To Pick Up Women – Don’t Blow Your Chance

October 10, 2009 by Willis Combs · Leave a Comment

One of the common ways men blow their chances with women is through negative self talk.

How do you see yourself?

How do you speak to yourself?

And what are you saying?

In other words due to a lack of self confidence many guys are creating barriers to success. This negative self talk causes you to be insecure and not confident. Women are not attracted to these qualities.

Instead you must be the man! You must tell yourself that you posses every quality that a good woman is looking for. Furthermore you don’t need a woman that doesn’t see this.

I can not stress this enough, by talking positively to yourself and about yourself it is a matter of time before you believe it. Just like every one around you already thinks how great of a person you are!

You just have to work or displaying these qualities to women. You are not uncommon. Very, very, very few men can actually attract women the way they want.

Even professional athletes, rich men, movie stars, … these guys can still sleep with a lot of women, however they are often not women that you would want to sleep with once you got to know them.

If you need to, it can help to create a list of positive qualities about yourself. Recite it and compliment yourself.

When you look good for work or school and tell yourself (at least silently). By doing this you will not only believe the truth and have a more accurate view of yourself, but your confidence will grow too. And we have all heard women say “How attracted they were to a guy because he was confident.”

This goes back to cave men days when women would choose men based on survival. The most confident guy is usually the strongest, fittest guy or in other words the best mate for the woman.

Finding The Right Type Of Heart Rate Monitor

August 26, 2009 by Assistant Editor · Leave a Comment

Many factors will have an influence on which heart rate monitor is right for you and when choosing a device your main priority should be to pick out a monitor that is both comfortable to wear and accurate. The monitor’s style and integrated features are most important when it comes to getting the most out of your workout.

There are a variety of features which heart rate monitors can have and although some are just convenient, others are meant to improve the quality of a heart rate monitor. Whereas some of the monitors are able to store information and keep records of workouts and track the progress you are making, others yet have timers that provide information like how long you exercised in your target rate zone. Other features that some monitors have include water resistance, watch functions and even a calculator.

On top of the many features you will also have to choose between many styles of heart rate monitors. There are some models made with a specific sport in mind, such as cycling or running. Others come in a style similar to a wristwatch and other monitors have chest bands or are strapless.

There are also different brand names of manufacturers that make heart rate monitors. This should be a factor for you to consider too. There are brands which have a reputation for making only high quality products and other brands may just have an expensive name you are investing in. Always make sure to purchase the monitor that gives you the most for your money.

Speaking of money, you should always consider your budget, too. There are many very good heart rate monitors on the market that are also affordable. However, you have to watch out for monitors that are cheaply made. You want a good value, so do not try to see how much you can save. Instead make an informed decision and consider all your options before making a purchase.

Before you start to shop for a heart rate monitor you should first do some research. It is important to first know what a monitor can do, how it functions and what all the options available are. It is also a good idea to test out a model. There are in-store demonstrations and many gyms have monitors that you can use. By testing out a model you will know if you like the fit and if it works for you.

The last thing that you need to do is read all the materials and literature that comes with your new heart rate monitor. You can choose the best model on the market, but if you do not know how to use it correctly then it will be useless. Most monitors come with instructions that tell you how to use the monitor and how to use all the features.

Which heart rate monitor to purchase is a decision that should be made only after taking all considerations into account and only this way will you be able to benefit from owning such a device. The right monitor will help you improve your exercising and workouts, as well as let you know when you are over-exerting yourself or not working out hard enough.

How To Talk With Girls

July 14, 2009 by Willis Combs · Leave a Comment

When you are talking to women there is nothing worse than nervous anxiety. It happens when you run out of things to say.

Your hands start to sweat, and you can not think a single coherent thought or topic of conversation. Frequently this is where you put your foot in your mouth and end up humiliating yourself.

However just by taking a few easy steps you can eliminate most of these feelings.

Step 1 – Prepare your conversation topics

This means think about what you are going to talk about before you approach. For example ask her where she is from?

Did she grow up there? Does her family live there? Does she come from a big family? Brothers and sisters?

Or talk about politics. Did she vote for Obama? What does she think of the stimulus package? Auto bailout?

These are just a few examples. The point is take a few moments and prepare a couple conversation topics. It will help tremendously.

I suggest three topics. As you get more comfortable you will not need to prepare as much. However this really helps to eliminate that nervous anxiety when you fun out of things to say.

Also it will make you appear less nervous. If you appear less nervous you are seen as self assured or confident. This will help her feel more comfortable and attracted to you.

Step 2 – Mantras

Create a couple mental mantras. You should use these before, during, and after your approaches.

For example, I always tell myself “she is just as nervous as you.” This is true!

The next time you are fighting with yourself about approaching or not tell yourself she is just as nervous as you. It will help to make you feel more comfortable. Just like men women get nervous too.

Another good one is “Act As if.” This means act as if you are the man. Act like she should be lucky you are talking to her.

Specifically use this to help give off that elusive confidence, that women are so attracted to. The truth is she is lucky because you are a good quality guy.

It’s not like you want to take her home and beat her up! Instead you just want to get to know her and see how things go. Of course, be careful you don’t go to far and been seen as arrogant.

Last one is “Don’t chase her just replace her.” Thankfully there are a lot of women in the world.

If things don’t work out with one, who cares? There are plenty more, don’t let yourself get down about one woman.
